Installing Mareew File Recovery

Before installing Mareew File Recovery, make sure to read about potential issues

WARNING: Do not download or install Mareew File Recovery onto the disk that contains files you are about to recover. Save and install Mareew File Recovery onto a different device, a separate partition, or use an external storage device. Mareew File Recovery can be safely run from digital memory cards, USB drives, remote and network drives, CD or DVD discs, and so on. Download Mareew File Recovery

Registering Mareew File Recovery

Mareew File Recovery requires a valid registration key in order to save the recoverable files. In order to register your copy, use Help - Order Now, or Help - About - Buy Now to purchase your registration key. Then use Input Key on the Help - About box to enter the registration key you receive. Click OK to close the registration window. Note that you won't have to restart Mareew File Recovery after entering the registration key.

If you prefer trying Mareew File Recovery out before making a purchase decision, perform the disk scan as described later in this tutorial. At the last step, just before you are offered to save the recoverable files, Mareew File Recovery will present a registration dialog. You'll be able to order and enter a registration key at that time. Note that you won't have to restart the scanning after registering your copy; instead, you'll be able to proceed saving the recoverable files immediately.

Using Mareew File Recovery

Launching Mareew File Recovery will present the welcome window of the Easy Recovery Wizard .

Undeleting Files with Mareew File Recovery

In order to recover deleted files, specify a disk or partition that holds the deleted files. Mareew File Recovery will not make any modifications to the disk just yet, so that you can safely scan damaged and system partitions.

If you prefer working with disk images instead of the actual drive, Mareew File Recovery allows you to mount or create an image of a disk at this step. Using disk images is the safest way of recovering deleted files. Click Map Virtual Partitions to access disk image functions.

Click Help - Mount Image to mount an existing disk image. To create a new disk image from a physical drive or partition, right-click on that disk and select Create Recovery Snapshot.

Scanning the disk for deleted files can take a long time depending on the size of the disk. The following window will keep you informed of the progress, and display the number of recoverable files found by Mareew File Recovery.

After the scanning is finished, you get the list of all recoverable files in an Explorer-like window.

Deleted files are marked with a red "X". Click any file to see its preview. Note that previewing files will not cause Mareew File Recovery to write anything to the hard drive, thus the recoverability of the filws will not suffer. Previewing files works in both evaluation and registered versions of Mareew File Recovery.

Mark files and folders to recover by selecting them with a check box, and click Next to proceed.

Select a folder to save recovered files to. IMPORTANT: do not use the same disk that contains the recoverable files to recover files to. Save files being recovered onto a separate hard disk or an external device (USB drive, memory card, CD or DVD, and so on).

Click the underlined link to open the folder that contains the recovered files, then click Finish.

Recovering Data from the Entire Hard Drive

Mareew File Recovery can recover files from entire hard drives, even if the disks are inaccessible or the drive is repartitioned and reformatted. To recover data from the entire hard disk, launch Mareew File Recovery and specify a physical disk in the disk selection window, then click Recover Hard Drive. Mareew File Recovery will automatically scan the drive to locate and recover all data on that disk. Recovering large hard drives can take significant time.

The Recovered Files Folder

The Recovered Files folder displays files discovered by the PowerSearch algorithm.

PowerSearch is a data recovery technology developed by Mareew Company after years of continuous research. The unique data recovery technology scans both the file system and the hard drive, locating files that are no longer present in the file system. PowerSearch is your last resort when recovering files from damaged and corrupted hard drives. The technology works even if the disk has been repartitioned and reformatted. PowerSearch identifies over 100 types of documents such as digital pictures, office documents, compressed archives, video and audio files.

Recoverable documents are grouped by the type. Click any file to see its preview.

Mark files to recover with check boxes, and click Next to proceed, then follow the instructions.
